Roy Wallace Chockley was born on December 23, 1945, to Fred and Iris (Painter) Chockley in Beaver, Oklahoma. He departed this life on December 7, 2020.  He was the youngest of four children: Jim Chockley, Otha McDaniel, and Roger Chockley.

Roy attended school at Clearlake, kindergarten through 4th grade. The family moved to Beaver where he started 5th grade and then graduated in 1964. He was a member of the FFA state champion judging team. They went on to compete at the national level in Chicago, IL. After graduating from Beaver High School he went on to attend Oklahoma State University and then Oklahoma Panhandle State University.

Roy married Cynthia Smith in 1968 in Beaver, OK. They had two children: Codi Lea-1971 and Andy Larkin-1973. They made their home in Goodwell, Oklahoma. Roy drove a Truck for Hofferber Trucking hauling cattle. They moved back to Beaver and Roy worked for Barby Rodeo Company. He loved this family dearly and took such pride in working hauling rodeo stock and being a pickup man. This is where he met some of his dearest friends.  During this time he loved rodeoing and riding broncs.

In 1975 he fell in love with Lisa Smylie. They were married in 1978 in Beaver, OK. Where they raised their one child Kacee Jo-1983. Roy worked for the Miles Ranch until he bought his first truck in 1978. Chockley Truckline was born. Roy operated his own business from Booker, TX until 1995. Over 17 years he built his business from owning one truck to operating seven-plus trucks. His last employment was for Chuck Winchell in 2007.  During this time, Roy and his brother Roger, owned and operated Chockley Cattle Company.

Roy spent the first part of his retirement looking after cattle for the 96 (Smylie Ranch) and the last few years being his brother's #1 gate opener. Going to Clearlake with Roger was the highlight of his days. He had such love for the land out at Clearlake it was always home for him. His favorite time of the year was when the cows were calving. He loved watching those baby calves running and bucking. He and Roger were not only brothers but best friends.

Roy’s family brought him great joy.  He enjoyed time with his family which included riding three-wheelers, boating and water skiing on Grand Lake, snow skiing, and card games.  He was a voracious reader and loved history, books about the panhandle, and poetry.  He received his FAA private pilot license in 1986. He was over joyed when he made his first solo flight and completed his training. He was also passionate about motorcycles, he loved riding his Harley Davidson. He loved spending time with his eleven grandchildren, whether riding horses, shooting guns, or reading them a book, he was proud of them all.
