Gaylord was born May 4, 1930 to Frank and Mary Alice (Peck) Redemer.  He graduated from Beaver High School.  He enlisted in the US Navy serving from January 11, 1951 to November 30 1954.  Gaylord served on the USS Los Angeles during the Korean War.  He received the National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal with 5 bronze stars and the United Nations Service Medal.  After his honorable discharge he returned back to Oklahoma where he attended Panhandle State University obtaining a Bachelors degree.  He married Iona Ruth (Karber) on January 25, 1958 in Ponca City, Oklahoma.  Gaylord taught school in Utica, Kansas, Mosquero, New Mexico, and Loving, New Mexico.  In 1971 he moved back to Oklahoma.  He taught in the Federal Bureau of Prisons until his retirement in January, 1992.  Immediately after his retirement he returned back to Beaver, Oklahoma. From 1992 until his recent illness, he resided on the family farm.  He enjoyed hunting, trapping, gardening and caring for the farm.  But mostly his enjoyed welcoming any and all friends and family with open arms when they visited the farm. Gaylord was a member of the American Legion and the NRA.  Preceding him in death was his wife, Iona Redemer and his sister, Odessa Howell.

Gaylord Frank Redemer passed away November 20, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He is survived by Curtis and his wife Gwen Redemer of Beloit, Kansas, Bradley and his wife DeAnn Redemer of Oklahoma City, Gayla Redemer of Oklahoma City, and Cris Redemer of Beaver, Oklahoma; brothers Merrell and Vern Redemer; six grandchildren, nine great grand children and a host of other relatives and friends.
