After completing high school, he attended the Denver Automotive Institute and graduated in 1965. Dennis joined the US Army in 1966 and was a Sergeant with the 823rd Ordnance Co in Savanna, Illinois until he moved to Ft. Riley, Ks. He was discharged in November of 1969. He then attended Oklahoma State School of Technical training in Okmulgee and graduated in Diesel mechanics. He worked for Haliburton Services in Eldorado before transferring to Lamar, Colorado. He went to work for the Neuces Gas Gathering Company in 1980 and through many buyouts work for Oneok Gas where he eventually retired in 2009.

Dennis loved spending his free time working in his shop. He could fix just about anything. He also enjoyed going on numerous bird hunting trips with his buddies, and he could spend hours hunting coyotes, prairie dogs, or wetting a line in the water.

Dennis aka Pop was an accomplished man, but his greatest accomplishment was raising a beautiful daughter who became an amazing mother, wife, teacher, and friend! My fondest memories of Pop are how he always smiled and was happy to make popcorn for movie nights at Megan’s. I know he will be so greatly missed by his loved ones, but he will forever be remembered and loved.
