Barbara Carrier Dixon was born in Idabel, Oklahoma, on February 24, 1942, to Robert Mooreland Crow and Lillie Pearl (Robison) Crow. She entered the gates of Heaven on January 14, 2026, surrounded by her daughters.
Barbara attended school in Bokchito, Oklahoma, until the 8th grade, when her family moved to Knowles, Oklahoma, where she graduated in 1960.
Barbara was very intelligent and hardworking. She worked from a very young age in the cotton fields and held many occupations throughout her lifetime, all of which she was very good at and took great pride in doing.
In 1964, Barbara married Harold Kingcade, and from this marriage came her two greatest blessings, daughters Sheila Jean and LaJoy Marie. They were married for 29 years before Harold passed away from cancer. Barbara was an amazing mother and wife. She was ever-present for her family and made sure all their needs were always met.
Barbara was a natural caregiver; she always thought of others before herself. She saw the very best in people and felt everyone deserved to be well cared for with dignity and respect, which led to her second marriage of 7 years to Earl Victor Carrier.
Barbara was so very easy to love. She was special, kind, funny, honest, hardworking, and carried herself well. One feature that made her stand out was her big, bright brown eyes—the “Crow” eyes, as she often called them.
At the age of 70, Barbara reconnected with her high school sweetheart and was courted into her third marriage to Gary Wayne Dixon. The eight years they had together were some of the happiest of her life.
Barbara’s pride and joy was her family. She loved when everyone was together. She was her grandchildren’s biggest fan and was always present for every event. In her later years, after becoming homebound, she would watch online. She always spoke proudly of her six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and was the best “Nanny” to them all.
Barbara was a true example of Christ’s love for us. She loved without boundaries, judgment, or conditions. And because of this, she was blessed with a lifetime full of love.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers and sisters, Alice Faye, Bobbie Jean, Jerry, and Granville; a son-in-law, Roy Bridwell; her beloved husbands; and a great-grandson, Rollin Roy Bridwell.
She is survived by her daughter Sheila and spouse Kevin Norton of Forgan, Oklahoma; her daughter Joy and spouse John Murray of Forgan, Oklahoma; granddaughter Sara and spouse Cole Williams of Okeene, Oklahoma; grandson Devin Craig Morris of Forgan, Oklahoma; grandson Kyle Bridwell and spouse Bailey of Ulysses, Kansas; grandson Josh Morris of Liberal, Kansas; grandson Blake Bridwell and spouse Mekyla of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandson Micah Norton of Forgan, Oklahoma; treasured great-grandchildren Ely Jocelyn, Cotton, Cash, Preslee, Kaisa, Bodee, Callen, Cruise, and Ace; two beloved sisters-in-laws, Doris Crow and Murl Crow; brother in-law Buddy Denham; and a host of treasured nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
