Brenda Rose Meyer

October 9, 1960 — May 2, 2022

Brenda Rose Meyer, 61, was born on October 9, 1960 in Raton, NM.  She is the daughter of Phyllis Abeyata Luchetti and Paul Raymond Aguilar.

Brenda grew up as the oldest of four children.  Her childhood was spent in Springer and Santa Fe, New Mexico.  She also spent time living in Colorado with her father.  She attended high school in Santa Fe.

Brenda was blessed with two children from a previous marriage, a son, Frankie Balizan, and a daughter, Monica Balizan Nielsen.  She raised her children in Perryton, Texas.

Brenda was employed at Vintage Petroleum as a book keeper.  While working at Vintage, she met the man who would become the love of her life, Rodney Meyer.  They dated for a short while, and knew their love was meant to last so they married on February 20, 1999, and blended their families.

Brenda moved to Balko.  She and Rodney worked as self-employed ranchers, farmers, and oil field pumpers.  Brenda never backed down from the challenge and became a regular country girl.

In November 2005, Brenda and Rodney were presented with the unique opportunity to start and build 3 Star Trucking in Cresson, TX. They left their familiar Balko community, and moved to Pecan Plantation, TX.  They became founding members of 3 Star and built it into a multimillion dollar business. After ten years, Balko, their home, began calling to them.  They returned to their beloved home place to ranch and farm.

After their return, Brenda worked at Perryton Aviation as an office manager until it closed, and then found employment in the PTCI corporate office in Guymon, OK.

Brenda was competitive in nature.  She had a love for sports, softball in particular.  She played league ball for many years.  She knew and loved the game.  When she could no longer play she took pride and joy in watching her children and then grandchildren.  Watching them enjoy sports filled her heart with joy.

Brenda leaves a legacy of love of family and friends, a hard work ethic, honesty, integrity and a smile that could light up a room.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

Brenda left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on May 2, 2022.

She is survived by her husband, Rodney Meyer of Balko, OK; her children Monica Nielsen and husband, Jay Dee, of Laverne, OK; Frankie Balizan and wife, Alicia, of Silt, CO; Zane Meyer and Karly Gillispie of Shattuck, OK; Zack Meyer and wife, Kayla, of Kingfisher, OK; Shianne Johnson and husband, Jeramie, of Shattuck, OK; ten grandchildren: Madison, Dorian, Adam, Tatum, Kruz, Kinlyn, Kyze, Karstyn, Jerett, and Jaylee; her mother, Phyllis Abeyta Luchetti of Santa Fe, NM; brothers, Paul Aguilar and John Abraham of Santa Fe, NM; and sister, Ursula Jordan and husband, Jason, of Santa Fe, NM.
