Freda Georgina Tillman

May 31, 1948 — June 14, 2020

Freda Georgina (McKay) Tillman was born on May 31, 1948 in Ayr, Scotland to Henry Riddex and Mary Jane (Diamond) McKay. She was the youngest of 15 children and spent her years growing up by the shores of Ayr. She graduated from secondary school and on August 15, 1966 she married an American Air Force soldier, Marshall Ray Tillman.

Leaving the only life and family she knew, Freda moved to Grady, NM in the spring of 1967 and withing a couple months gave birth to Mark Henry Tillman. After only living in New Mexico a couple years, they moved to Beaver, OK where Marshall worked in the gas industry. Freda worked at Beaver Public Schools for many years, Beaver County Nursing Home and the old original Pizza Hut.

Freda loved to paint, sing an old Scottish tune or two and she especially loved to play Bingo and go with her friends to casinos. After she hurt her ankle, she became a full time Nana to her two grandchildren. She loved watching them grow up, always supported their dreams and was incredibly involved in their activities. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary McKay, as-well-as eleven other brothers and sisters.

Freda went to be with our Lord on June 14, 2020, at the age of 72.

She is survived by her husband, Marshall Tillman of Beaver, Oklahoma; her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Susie Tillman of Beaver, Oklahoma; her two grandchildren, Savannah Tillman of Miami, Oklahoma and Emory Tillman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her three sisters, Flora Buchanan, Joyce Kennedy and Bubbles Macleod, all of Ayr, Scotland; numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.
