Gerald "Gerry" Stephens

June 24, 1963 — January 3, 2026

Crescent, Oklahoma

Gerry Stephens was born on June 24, 1963, and passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, at home surrounded by family and love. By all accounts, Gerry was the coolest guy you’d ever meet — and he absolutely knew it. A true crowd favorite, he had a rare gift for putting people instantly at ease, often with a quick joke, a knowing smile, or a perfectly timed comment that left everyone laughing.

Gerry was a proud girl dad and devoted father who loved taking his daughters and his son to their first OU, OSU, and OKC Thunder games, soaking up every moment like it was his own first time too. Whether cheering from the stands or riding his Harley, Gerry lived life his way — with humor, heart, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting. He was definitely “one of 14 in a Kia Soul.”

He was a heck of a dart partner, a Big Captain Obvious in spirit, and the undisputed king of “Is That What You’re Gonna Wear?” Gerry was also famously talented at getting fish hooks stuck in his own hand — a skill no one asked for, but one he somehow mastered anyway.

In the kitchen, Gerry truly shined. He made the best deviled eggs, though some would argue he was even better at “taste testing” to make sure they were just right — and then casually eating enough that everyone else needed to hurry. His meatloaf and beanie weenies were unmatched, and no one ever left his house hungry… or without a smile.

Gerry was also an incredible drag race crew chief — dedicated, knowledgeable, and endlessly supportive of his team. He had a passion for helping others succeed and brought the same encouragement and loyalty to the track that he carried into every part of his life.

Above all else, Gerry was an amazing husband, even when he had to draw a firm line on getting one more dog — a line he famously drew on the refrigerator. He was the best dad, the biggest wisecracker, and the person you could always count on, especially when you needed him most. He never failed to make people smile, even on the hardest days.

A reliable and Godly man, Gerry lived his life serving others with kindness and generosity. For years, he was deeply involved with and supportive of family, friends, and a children’s home in Colorado, always offering encouragement, love, and a helping hand. He also spent time helping feed the homeless, never hesitating to give his time, heart, and resources to those in need.

Gerry was also a proud member of Calvary Motorcycle Ministry and served as a Ride Captain for the Patriot Guard, roles that reflected his deep faith, love of riding, and unwavering respect for those who served. Whether honoring fallen heroes or riding in fellowship, Gerry led with humility, devotion, and heart.

Gerry was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Freda Stephens; his brother, Rick Stephens; his daughter, Amanda Kerns Mosburg; and his special brothers, Joe Bob Cates and Mark Calaway.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sheri Stephens; his children, Kolby Stephens and wife Whitney, Kelsie Kramer and husband Alex, and Sarah Keenan and Josh Castlebury. He was a proud grandfather to Blakely and Bentley, Max, Kalia, Kamron, Ryleigh, and Rawlin, and a devoted great-grandfather to Ellie Maree. He is also survived by his mother- and father-in-law, Doug and Cheryl Marr; his brothers, Kenny Stephens and wife Cheryl, Dale Stephens and spouse Don, and James Stephens and wife Judy; along with many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who loved him dearly.

Gerry was married to Glenna Langston on November 2, 1984, and later married Sheri on July 21, 2007, with whom he shared a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering partnership.

Gerry Stephens truly was one of a kind — a good man, a loyal friend, and an incredible role model who lived with love, laughter, and integrity. His absence leaves a space that can never be filled, but his stories, jokes, and spirit will live on in every shared memory, every laugh, and every “remember when Gerry…”

He will be deeply missed, always loved, and forever remembered — usually with a laugh, because that’s exactly how he would’ve wanted it.
