Helen Louise McEntire

Mrs. Helen Louise Parker McEntire aged 97 passed into the hands of the Lord on July 17, 2020 in Las Cruces, NM.  Helen passed away from complications after hip surgery due to a fall.  Helen was born in Beaver, OK on March 5, 1923.  After high school graduation in 1941, she moved to Oklahoma City, OK where she married Mack Bouland McEntire June 11, 1946.  Mack and Helen lived in Oklahoma City for a time, in Laverne, OK for 1 year, and moved to Beaver, OK in 1951. In 1956, Helen and Mack moved to Sunray TX where Helen remained after Mack’s death in 1966. Helen attended Bible Baptist Church in Sunray, TX.  She loved children, although she had none of her own, and many former students will fondly remember her Sunday School Classes at the Bible Baptist Church. In 2006, Helen had a stroke and could no longer handle the icy winters in Sunray. She spent the winters in Las Cruces, NM with her sister and summers in Sunray.  Helen moved to Las Cruces full time in 2013.  She is survived by her sister, Mary Alice Parker Payne, nephews Ricky Parker, Mike Payne and Mark Payne, and nieces Diana Parker Tarrant, Dixie Parker Felan, and Micki Payne Harris.
