James Ervin Mitchell

James Ervin Mitchell was born October 31, 1927 to Claude Ervin and Ruby Ann (Orrell) Mitchell in Beaver County, Oklahoma.  He graduated from Balko High School and entered the United States Army and later was honorably discharged.  He married Emma Marie Cooper on September 28, 1947 in Balko, Oklahoma. He has been a member of the Balko Community Faith Church since 1946,  a Past President of the Oklahoma State School Board, Balko School Board, Oklahoma Water Resources and Farm Bureau. He was a farmer and rancher most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents.  

James Ervin Mitchell passed on August 25, 2016 in the Ochiltree General Hospital at the age of 88.

He is survived by his wife, Emma, of Balko, Oklahoma; his sons, David Mitchell of Canyon, Texas, Doug Mitchell and Dale Mitchell of Balko, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
