Jeanette Frances Gail Kelly

December 2, 1948 — January 13, 2026

Forgan, Oklahoma

Jeanette Frances Gail Kelly, better known as Gail to her loved ones, left this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. One of the kindest souls who loved her family to the very end, we have no doubt she was smiling big when she met Jesus.

Gail was born in Blythe, California on December 2, 1948 to Hubert and Dorothy (Butler) Wardlaw. She came into the world as the little sister to her big brother Jack and spent much of her childhood chasing him around and trying to keep up. She loved playing baseball with him and never shied away from adventure. Her favorite story to tell involved the time she got kicked in the face by a horse, a story she told with such enthusiasm that we were never quite sure whether to laugh or cringe.

When Gail was just ten years old, her father Hubert passed away. Later, her mother married Curly Covel, who stepped in and raised her. Curly became her dad in every way that mattered and she loved him deeply.

Gail grew up to become an LVN, Licensed Vocational Nurse, and her favorite specialty was labor and delivery, which came as no surprise to those who knew her. She was a natural nurturer and gave so much love to everyone she crossed paths with. With what little strength she had left at the end, she made sure to tell her grandkids, “I love you baby.”

She met the love of her life, George Kelly, and they were married in March of 1973. Their marriage spanned 52 years and even after all that time, neither of them was ready for it to end. Their love was steady, faithful and full of devotion.

One of her favorite hobbies was painting ceramics and her family and friends treasured these special handmade gifts. As much as she loved ceramics, her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She was always there, sitting in the crowd at piano recitals, basketball games and every moment that mattered. She was their biggest cheerleader in every sense of the word.

She was a devoted church member and could almost always be found sitting in the pews at Beaver First Christian Church. Gail loved many things, but above all else, she loved her Lord and Savior with her whole heart.

Gail leaves behind her husband George, children Chris King and wife Scotty of Beaver and Crystal Martinez of Forgan, grandchildren Travis, Evan, Katie, Kiersten, Kylee, Miguel, Jaime, Ashton, Avery, Adam and Ella, great granddaughter Hazel, nieces Dawn, Rosemarie and Jeanette and great nieces and nephews Quin, Yeshua, Elaina, Donovan, Trinity and Zachary.

Waiting for her in Heaven were her parents Hubert and Dorothy, Curly Covel, brother Jack, three children Craig King, Charlotte Kelly and Darla Kelly and numerous other family and friends waiting to hug her neck.

A private graveside for the family will be held at a later date.
