Lavonda Lou McCay

Lavonda Lou Fronk McCay went home to be with the Lord on December 7, 2025. Her life was a quiet testimony to grace, faith, and steadfast love.

Born in Booker, Texas, to Arch and Thelma Fronk on February 24, 1936, she learned early that kindness was a calling and that family was a gift to be cherished.

She spent nearly 59 devoted years with her husband Kevin Leon McCay, walking side by side through the joys and storms of life. Together they raised their children, Rhonda McCay and Kevin Todd McCay, welcomed friends and strangers with open doors, and built a home where laughter echoed and coffee was always brewing. For more than twenty years, her gentle spirit shaped the Red Carpet Motel in Beaver, Oklahoma, into a place of comfort. It was her own small ministry of hospitality.

Lavonda was a woman of Scripture. She was a Bible study and worship leader whose faith ran deep. She believed that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and she carried that nearness into every prayer she lifted for others. Her seminary studies only deepened her joy in God’s Word, but it was her daily living, her compassion, her listening ear, her warm meals shared freely, that preached the truest sermons.

She leaves behind her brother, David Fronk; her daughter, Rhonda McCay; grandchildren Tracey, Ashley, Brett, and Keela; great-grandchildren Kenzie, Peyton, Gavin, Kaydence, Evan and Avery; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, etc. who were blessed by her unwavering love. She is preceded in death by her husband Kevin Leon McCay, son Kevin Todd McCay, parents Arch and Thelma Fronk, her brother Galen Fronk, and sister Jolene Martinez.

Lavonda will be remembered for her bright eyes, her infectious laugh, and her belief that almost anything could be mended with prayer and a little faith. The legacy she leaves is one of tenderness, devotion, and the quiet strength of a woman who trusted that goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.

And now she will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
