Leroy Edward Penner

Leroy (Bud) Edward Penner was born on November 23, 1930 in Gray, Oklahoma to Ruben R and Marie (Unruh) Penner. He graduated from Balko High School in 1950. He married Donna Bell Gift on April 9, 1954. To this union, three girls were born. Peggy Jo Penner Chapman of Louisburg, KS, Patti Kay Penner Wilson and husband Keith of Paola, KS, Pamela (Pam) Penner Blackburn of Louisburg, KS.

He had five grand kids, Randal Tyler Chapman and wife Stephanie, of Guymon, Ok, Tera Jo Chapman Anderson and husband Keyle of Louisburg, KS, Ta’ Faun Lewis Carra and husband Brandon of Paola, KS, Kelsey Marie Blackburn Blomberg and husband Craig of Lindsborg, KS, and Shealee Kay Wilson Bailey of Paola, KS.

He had seen great grand kids. Haley Chapman of Guymon, OK, Braeden Fields and wife Candace of Norman, OK, Megan Anderson Gregg and husband Garrett of Stillwell, KS, Justin Anderson of Louisburg, KS, Brett Fields of Stillwater, OK, Braden Anderson of Louisburg, KS, Reese Chapman of Guymon, OK. He is survived by one sister, Mary Ann Scott of Union City, OK.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Bell, his parents, brother and sister in laws LaFaun Karber, Leon Gift, Charles Gift, Ivan Gift and Charles Scott.

Leroy and Donna farmed in the Balko community for many years before they both went to work for the post office. Leroy started his postal career in Balko (Boyd) and then transferred to Guymon and retired in October 1992.

He moved to Louisburg, KS in July 2018 to be closer to family. Leroy, Bud, Grandpa will be dearly missed by many friends and family.
