Teddy "Ted" Ramono Byrum

Teddy R. Byrum, 91, passed away on March 15, 2025. Born on December 2, 1933, Ted lived a life full of humor, outstanding work ethics, compassion and kindness.

Ted married Lois Adkins, January 6th, 1952. They were married for an amazing 71 years, until Lois passed away on November 6th, 2024. They were the proud and loving parents of 2 sons.

Ted absolutely flourished in whatever he set his mind to. He ran his own CB, television and radio repair shop in Beaver, Oklahoma for many years. Customers raved about his personality, his fairness and his genius when it came to fixing their electronics.

He was also a truck driver. Ted worked for Suttles Truck Leasing, Demopolis, AL for many years. He then became an employee of Kindsvater Trucking, Dodge City, KS. He remained with Kindsvater until his retirement.

Retirement to Ted was always working on something else. He absolutely loved to tinker with farm equipment, electronics and anything else that challenged him. He greatly enjoyed board games, Western movies and also loved taking long drives. He had great wit and charm, and never failed to make you laugh. Ted was a softie when it came to his Chihuahuas, he never went anywhere without them. His favorite pet, Dinky, passed away in late 2024 of old age. Ted was definitely one of a kind, and is greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Ted and his wife Lois, required a lot of care in their later years. Especially Lois, who was diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer's. Luckily, in 2009, their best friend and treasured companion, Donna Birdwell came to live with them and helped them with everything they needed to live a fulfilling life in their golden years.

Ted is survived by their son, Jim Byrum, Oklahoma City, Ok, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his 2 sons, Rick Byrum and Ronny Byrum. Parents John Byrum and Ida Lucille Byrum.
