With reverence, I want to express my deep sadness at the loss of a wonderful soul.  I know that Velma has had a lasting effect on so many lives, my own included.

Although, life gave my siblings and I a path that did not allow us the opportunity to have our father's family as an integral part of our upbringing, I am extremely grateful that our mother made a point of letting us know our aunts, uncles, and cousins.  I am equally as grateful that they loved and accepted us in return.
I vividly recall our trips to Beaver to visit our father's family, and I very fondly remember Aunt Velma.  She was always so gentle, kind and loving.  I have no doubt that since she had Mosburg blood, she had a feisty and independent nature, and I could see that in her personality.  But, what I remember most is always feeling comfortable and at home in her presence.  She was happy to visit for hours with absolutely no unease, and she maintained a very loving relationship with our mother over the years, which was appreciated more than anyone can know.
As I sit here staring at Velma's photo, I can see pieces of myself in her semblance, and I feel her in my heart.  She is now, and always will be, greatly loved and missed!!
