Upon graduation, she willingly forwent college to marry the love of her life, Clair McCulley (THS ’69) , on July 27th at their home church, the Bethel Church of God, that her forbearers founded.
Verna loved people and cats. She crafted using all types of media to create hand-made gifts for friends and family. She took time to visit relatives and make new friends from all over. Verna and her husband lived full-time in an RV from 1986-2002, allowing them to travel all of the Western United States. She also enjoyed visiting multiple foreign countries.
Her greatest adventure was moving back to her roots, and reconnecting with old friends and family in addition to making new friends. Verna was a housekeeper, and was willing to help anybody. She was involved in Aglow International, Walk to Emmaus, and several churches in various capacities throughout her life. Verna especially loved Jesus, and reading her Bible. Her insights amazed friends when studying together.
